About Us

Built by trainees, for the next ones.

Traditional medical training is excellent at teaching pathology and quiet on how to actually talk to a patient, write a safe order, or get through a night shift. That gap is where confidence goes missing, not in the textbook, but on the ward.

We started as a group of new graduates trading survival tips across WhatsApp threads and hospital corridors, with rotations spanning the GCC, the UK, the US, and Canada. GUIDE MD turns those hard-won lessons into standardized scripts, templates, and mentorship, free, with a dedicated focus on International Medical Graduates navigating Saudi and Middle Eastern pathways abroad, in step with the Saudi Vision 2030 Health Sector Transformation Program.

Where it started

It started as a survival guide, forged in study rooms, hospital corridors, and WhatsApp groups, in every frantic conversation that opened with "wait, how do you actually do this?" We were a handful of new graduates on the cusp of our own internships, scouring platforms and overburdened seniors for answers that never lived in one reliable place.

What set our path apart was where it took us. Our rotations spanned the GCC, with electives in North American teaching hospitals and UK wards. We sat in rounds far from home, applied for complex pathways abroad, and supported each other through every confusing step of the process. That gave us a ground-level view of what trainees in this region actually need, whether that's a high-yield flashcard deck, a longcase strategy, or a residency application timeline.

Today that survival guide runs on three programs: the Guide Me MD podcast, The Compass resource library, and pathway mentorship for exams and residency applications, all anchored in the GUIDE MD Hub on Discord.

Join the Team

GUIDE MD runs entirely on volunteers. No one draws a salary, and every script, episode, and template exists because a trainee somewhere gave up a few hours to build it. If you want to help build the thing you wish had existed on your first day on the wards, there's a place for you.

Content & Clinical Research

Turn clinical literature and real ward experience into scripts, templates, and teaching notes. Good fit if you like reading guidelines and translating them into plain language.

Community Operations

Moderate the Hub, run onboarding, and keep Discord a safe, judgment-free place to ask questions. Good fit if you're already the one answering everyone's questions in your class group chat.

Creative & Production

Podcast editing, visual design, and the social content that carries our pearls further. Good fit if you've ever thought "I could make this look better."

Partnerships & Outreach

Help build formal ties with medical schools and student councils, and bring senior mentors into the network.

Fill out our short volunteer application — it takes about 5 minutes, and our founding team personally reviews every submission and follows up within 1-2 weeks.
